Aims and objectives
The aim of the research project is to enable students to undertake an intensive research study of considerable standing. It provides students with the opportunity to consolidate critical thinking and analysis skills developed throughout the postgraduate program and extend the body of knowledge by means of focused research on approved research topic.

- Identify an area of research interest that enables conducting in-depth research study
- Construct a research proposal that explains the aims and objectives as well as some background and significance in relation to the defined research problem
- Write an Ethics application (if appropriate) that enables the collection of data within the University ethics guidelines
- Conduct extensive review of literature appropriate to the research topic undertaken
- Collect and collate data and carryout relevant analyses for meaningful interpretations of research outcomes
- Prepare and submit a report and presentation of research outcomes available at the end of the semester.

Content
This is a continuation of research undertaken in HES7608R1 Risk Management Research Project – Part 1. Academic rigour, professionalism and ethics should be appropriately considered in the research design and methodologies to conduct literature surveys, data collection, investigations, designing and, modelling (if so relevant), analyses, interpretations, research outcomes and reporting. The research project may be basic research and/ or applied/ industry-based research.
