Aims and objectives

This unit of study aims to provide students with the opportunity to conduct research into or under GMP conditions.

Teaching methods

Self-directed study and/or laboratory work under the guidance of a supervisor.

Assessment

  • Progress Reports (35%)

  • Thesis or Final Report (45%)

Content

Students will work, under supervision, on a selected research and development project approved by the unit convener. Each project will involve an extensive literature survey which will form part of the final thesis. Projects will commonly involve input from relevant industry bodies, including the student's own work place (where appropriate and possible). Supervisory guidance will be given with respect to the writing of a Masters Thesis.
