Aims and objectives
• Explain the importance of effective leadership and management in contemporary organisations
• Describe and discuss critically theories and concepts and leadership and management
• Critically employ a model of leadership effectiveness to analysis the effectiveness of individual leaders
• Identify and discuss leadership and management behaviours and skills and discuss the interrelatedness of the function of leadership and management
• Critically asses one’s own personal leadership and management behaviour and sills, identify those behaviours and skills which need further development and plan a development program
Teaching methods
This unit will be taught in a variety of modes including face to face, online, distance and blended modes. Delivery of this unit may be through a mixture of lectures, tutorials, laboratories, seminars and online.
