Aims and objectives

At the completion of this unit, students should be able to:
  • Comprehend the importance of cross cultural communication in everyday and business situations;
  • Appreciate the difference between the Australian and Chinese norms of communication and interpersonal interaction in social and business environments;
  • Understand China’s ability to co-exist with Western cultural forms;
  • Analyse the social, economic and political factors that lea to the development of the art or cultural forms covered in this unit; and
  • Communicate and interact effectively in the Chinese manner.

Major Essay 20 - 30%
Individual Presentation 15 - 25%
Class Participation (15%) 10 – 20%
