Aims and objectives

At the completion of this unit, students should be able to:
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the changing nature of business and the implications on the workforce
  • Understand and apply the relevant HRM theories, models and frameworks in a business environment
  • Demonstrate the use of research skills that are relevant to enable self-directed learning
  • Develop awareness of the place of Australia in the global economy
  • Develop and apply research instruments to investigate HR strategies in organisations
  • Identify the impact of strategy and structure for the business environment
  • Critically analyse the contemporary literature and issues relevant to Human Resources Management and apply this to contemporary organisations
