To endorse the student on the Commercial Pilot Licence (Aeroplane) test aircraft.
To consolidate the procedural aspects of IFR cross country flight. To further consolidate proficiency in departure, enroute and arrival procedures in the conduct of commercial operations under VFR and IFR.
At the completion of this unit of study the student should:
- Demonstrate proficiency of the flight planning requirements at the commercial level including all commercial legal operational requirements, based on accurate meteorological analysis, including en-route and take off and landing performance
- Identify aircraft performance and serviceability requirements at a commercial level including determining complete aircraft serviceability, fuel requirements and loading procedures including carriage of dangerous goods
- Conduct safely IFR and VFR cross-country flights according to Oxford Aviation Academy standard operating procedures for normal and abnormal in-flight scenarios complying with all airspace requirements
- Demonstrate proficiency in the application of instrument flight, on full and partial panel
- Demonstrate practical flying and airmanship skills sufficient to attain a Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) Commercial Pilot Licence (Aeroplane)
- Demonstrate practical flying and airmanship skills sufficiently to attain a Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) Multi-Engine Command Instrument Rating

Practical Flight Instruction in Aircraft and Simulator
Assessment
Practical Examination: 100%
Training for the CPL (A) and MECIR (A) is competency based and while progressive assessment is recorded in the training syllabus the licence and rating is granted on successful completion of the appropriate flight test.
Note: It is a CASA requirement that the student has successfully passed the CASA IREX Theory exam prior to undertaking the MECIR flight test, and all of the CASA CPL theory exams prior to undertaking the CPL flight test.
Both flight tests form the basis of the practical exams for this unit.
