Aims and objectives

After successfully completing this unit, you should be able to:
  • Understand the business environment in the Asian region and an ability to recognise and analyse the factors unique to Asia in a globalized environment
  • Assess the potential business opportunities, competition and threats in doing business in the Asia-Pacific region
  • Use the skills developed in researching case studies to update normative knowledge of the region to make business decisions and to present findings in a group oral report and written consultancy report

Teaching methods

Classes in either weekly or block mode

Assessment

Group Presentation (10%-20%)
Group Report (30%-40%)
Examination (40%-50%)

Issues that influence business in the Asia-Pacific such as:
  • Corporate social responsibility and ethics
  • Management, globalization and regional integration
  • Political, economic, socio-cultural, technological and legal frameworks
will be included in this unit of study.
