Aims and objectives

To expose students to techniques and methodology in embedded system design. Students will develop hands-on experience in design, simulation, verification and implementation using industry standard EDA tools.

  • Embedded system design cycle and system modelling
  • Embedded system hardware and software
  • Real-time embedded system
  • Embedded system specification and verification
  • Hardware/software co-design, partitioning and tradeoffs
  • Embedded development tools
  • Analysis and design methods using graphical notations eg. UML, implementation considerations, testing strategies and construction of test cases, software engineering environments and CASE tools.
  • Embedded system design and verification
