Aims and objectives

The aim of this unit is to develop the skills and knowledge required to determine strategic change requirements and opportunities, and to develop, implement, monitor and evaluate change management strategies as they apply to administrative systems.

After successfully completing this unit, you should be able to:
  • Understand and describe the key elements of organisational structure and design
  • Analyse administrative systems to ensure quality and the identification of key stakeholders 
  • Identify change opportunities and implement change management principles when introducing or reviewing an administrative system
  • Develop change management strategies including risk analysis and contingency planning, identify barriers to change and mitigation strategies
  • Implement change management strategies including the development of communication and training plans and training needs analysis 
  • Monitor and evaluate administrative systems to ensure continuous improvement and quality outcomes

Teaching methods

This unit will be taught in a variety of modes including face to face, online and blended modes. Delivery of this unit may be through a mixture of tutorials, laboratories and online.

Case study (40%)
