Description
The Communications Co-Major prepares students to work in the media, multimedia and communications industries and they will acquire an understanding of political economy and the rapid emergence of new media, examining issues such as ownership, control of the media and the impact of new technologies. Students will also gain additional skills in professional communications and creative writing. Students completing the Communications Co-Major with a Media Major qualify to graduate with the Bachelor of Arts (Media and Communications).
Structure
A Co-Major is a sequence of study focused on a specific discipline while assuming no prior knowledge on the part of the student. It is self-contained, in that it includes any requisite foundation studies. Where a student has studied a Co-Major they are not normally eligible to apply to graduate with the associated tagged degree outcome. Co-Majors contain up to one elective choice and are made up of 8 units (100cps).
