Accounting Co-Major and Minors - 2009
Co-Major at Hawthorn
Description
Accounting is the ‘language of business’ and those skilled in it are able to operate on a global stage; evaluating, analysing and communicating the financial position of an organisation or individual. Students who combine accounting with their major studies develop financial literacy and fast tracking into management positions. Students discover just how accounting is ‘much more than numbers crunching’, how it relates to all areas of the business and the information and analytical tools to help improve the decision making process throughout their organisation.
This Co-Major and Minors are available to students commencing in 2009 only.
Structure
A co-major is a set of eight (8) units that aim to equip students with a thorough understanding of the subject matter.
A minor is set of four (4) units that aim to enhance a student's knowledge and skill set by either introducing them to new subject matter or expanding upon topics they’re already familiar with in their major.
A unit can only be counted once as part of a major, co-major or minor. Where there is an overlap of units a substitute unit has been identified in the relevant cognate area.
