Rosemary Simpson Scholarship for Rural & Regional Students

This scholarship has generously been established by the Jolimont Foundation to assist Swinburne University of Technology students from rural and regional areas to undertake and complete a university education.

The scholarship aims to:

  • support students from rural and regional areas  who, under normal circumstances, might be unable to undertake or complete a university education.
  • enable young people to achieve their full potential, by reducing the need to work outside of study in order to finance their living and study costs.

Courses Eligible

All Higher Education courses.

Eligibility / Selection Criteria

To be eligible a student must:

• be an Australian citizen, an Australian permanent resident or holder of a permanent humanitarian visa
• be accepted into a full time undergraduate study at Swinburne University of Technology, with preference given  to Year 12 school leavers
• have relocated from a rural and regional area in order to study at Swinburne
• demonstrate financial need and commitment to their studies
• demonstrate qualities of leadership and/or community participation


Value

The Scholarship is valued at $7,500 per year for the duration of the course up to a maximum of 5 years.
