George Alexander Foundation Scholarship

This scholarship has been made available by The George Alexander Foundation. The Foundation was established in 1972 by Mr Alexander AM to provide grants for public charitable purposes in Australia. Reflecting the Founder's special interests, these Scholarships are offered to help talented young people who have demonstrated academic ability, especially those who have experienced disadvantage, to achieve their educational goals and reach their potential.  


Courses Eligible

Any undergraduate academic program offered at one of Swinburne's Australian campuses.

Eligibility / Selection Criteria

To be eligible applicants must:
  • be commencing their first undergraduate degree 
  • be accepted into a full-time undergraduate degree, at one of Swinburne's Australian campuses and commencing study in Semester 1, 2012
  • attain a minimum ATAR of 80.00
  • be able to demonstrate need and reside away from home in order to undertake tertiary studies
  • be involved in extracurricular activities 
  • be an Australian citizen.
The following key selection criteria apply:
  • Involvement in extracurricular activities that provide evidence of possible leadership potential.
  • A personal statement.
  • Two referee reports.

Please note:  this Scholarship cannot be deferred - where an applicant who has been offered the Scholarships and successfully applies to defer commencing their course of study, their entitlement to the Scholarship will cease.


Value

$22,500 payable over three years.
