Recognition of Prior Learning
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is the acknowledgment of learning undertaken outside the university and TAFE system. This may include skills and knowledge acquired through paid or volunteer work, informal or employer-based training and even leisure or social pursuits (such as musical, mechanical or linguistic abilities).
Students may not need to complete all of a course if they already possess some of the competencies taught within it.
Please note there may be restrictions on international students being granted RPL.
What is Skills Recognition?
In Swinburne's TAFE School of Business RPL is known as Skills Recognition.
