Centenary celebrations
In recognition of its centenary, Swinburne is holding a number of celebrations throughout the year, both locally and offshore, for staff, students and alumni.
Swinburne Student Amenities Association (SSAA) hosted a beach party at local nightclub ROOM to celebrate 100 years of Swinburne. Students were invited to come along in boadshorts and thongs to meet and socialise with students from all campuses.
At Swinburne's centenary scholarship ceremony, Vice-Chancellor Professor Ian Young awarded 39 students Vice-Chancellor's Centenary Scholarships.
The university offers Vice-Chancellor's Scholarships to first year, full time students in degree programs across all faculties to students who display academic excellence in their Year 12 studies. The scholarships exempt students from paying the Student Contribution Amount.
