Early Offer Program

Our Early Offer Program is designed to reward our future students who received high results in Year 11, with an offer for a place at university before finishing Year 12.

The program is currently a pilot program and is only available for students from 33 selected schools (see 'Eligibility' for a list of participating schools in 2012).

Under the program, you can apply for a conditional offer for a place at Swinbune in a range of degrees for 2013. By securing your university place now, you can better focus on your Year 12 studies. The condition of the offer is your successful completion of VCE.

If you receive an offer, you'll be provided with additional support from Swinburne throughout your Year 12 studies, including the Course in Tertiary Transition Skills which will help you with your Year 12 students and to make a smooth transition to university.

Through the program, you can choose up to three undergraduate degrees from a range of study areas, including:

  • Accounting and Finance
  • Business and Management
  • Design
  • Digital Media
  • Health and Community Services
  • Hospitality and Tourism
  • Information and Communication Technologies
  • Psychology and Social Science
  • Science
  • Sustainability
Participating in the Early Offer Program does not preclude you from making other course applications or changing your preferences for 2013 later in the year.

Benefits of the program

A secured place at university

The advantages of being part of the program begin before you start your degree.

It helps take the worry out of applying for entry and gives you the chance to focus on your final school year and preparing for exams.

Access to university facilities and study support

As part of the program, you will also undertake a free academic preparation course which is an excellent way to ensure you make the best possible start to your university studies.

You'll have full access to Swinburne's five campus libraries at Hawthorn, Prahran, Lilydale, Croydon and Wantirna, including books, journals and other electronic resources.

The libraries also have workstations, computers, printer, scanners and photocopiers for student use.

To take up your place, you must successfully complete your Year 12 studies*.

If you’ve had some personal difficulties in Year 11, your school can still nominate you for an early offer under exceptional circumstances.

You must have a letter of recommendation from your principal or senior school coordinator to explain the circumstances which have led to lower results.

Please note some undergraduate programs will have VCE pre-requisites; you should check the entry requirements for the specific program you're interested in.

*Successful completion of Year 12

VCE completion

You must successfully complete the Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE) to take up your offer and entry into a Swinburne degree.
