What is educational disadvantage?
Swinburne’s Equity Unit offers students the opportunity to demonstrate educational disadvantage from previous studies.
Some examples of educational disadvantage relating to regional applicants include:
- Lack of specialist teachers for certain subject areas
- Difficulty in accessing study materials and resources
- Attendance at a rural secondary school that is classified as disadvantaged
