Future Students - Information For

Regional and Interstate Students:
Equity for rural students

Swinburne’s Equity Unit provides students with a fair chance, by offering the opportunity to demonstrate educational disadvantage from previous studies.

Some examples of educational disadvantage relating to regional applicants include:

  • Lack of specialist teachers for certain subject areas
  • Difficulty in accessing study materials and resources
  • Attendance at a rural secondary school that is classified as disadvantaged.

Swinburne Relocation and Equity Awards

Swinburne offers various Relocation and Equity Awards as well as Commonwealth Learning Scholarships available to rural, regional and interstate students commencing university studies. These are designed to assist with study-related costs and are based on academic merit and financial need.

Check the Scholarships section for selection criteria and application closing dates.

Indigenous Students

At Swinburne, we are committed to ensuring that our tertiary courses are accessible to indigenous students. An Indigenous Programs Unit assists students with scholarships, accommodation and ABSTUDY.

For more information visit the Indigenous Programs Unit website or the Indigenous Learning Centres at the Lilydale and Healesville campuses.
