Future Students - Information For

Regional and Interstate Students:
Accommodation

Once you have a few courses in mind, you will need to start thinking about accommodation options. Consider how independent you want to be and what your budget is. Don't leave your decision to the last minute or you will find that your choices are limited.

On-campus accommodation

Swinburne offers on-campus accommodation at the Hawthorn and Lilydale campuses and is available to both TAFE and university students.

On-campus accommodation is safe, modern, well-maintained, convenient and is designed with the needs of regional, interstate and international students in mind.

We recommend you contact Swinburne in September when you lodge your VTAC application if you would like to apply to live on-campus.

Off-campus accommodation

There are many types of off-campus accommodation options, including:

  • Home-away-from-home
  • Hostel accommodation
  • Staying with a relative or family
  • Sharing a house, flat or bungalow.
Swinburne has housing advisers on each campus to assist and support you with finding affordable and secure accommodation. They can also help you with information and guidance on tenants' rights and responsibilities, emergency and short-term accommodation assistance and information on bond assistance.
