What is VTAC?

VTAC

The Victorian Tertiary Admissions Centre (VTAC) works as an application and administrative agency for all Victorian universities and TAFE institutes. Applications to VTAC must be submitted electronically via the VTAC website.

Applications through VTAC open in August each year and close during the last week of September. Although late applications will be accepted by VTAC until mid-December, some courses have special requirements and will not accept late applications. Your child can check the VTAC Guide for details or view Swinburne's VTAC Entry web page.

  • VTAC Guide
This guide lists all the courses that require a VTAC application and also provides information on application procedures. The VTAC Guide is available in mid-July and can be purchased from newsagencies or accessed online from the VTAC website.

Not all courses are listed in the VTAC guide and therefore it is important to use institute publications and websites in your research. To view all Swinburne courses visit CourseFinder, our online course database.
  • MyInfo
The MyInfo section on the VTAC website will become one of your child's most important resources during the application process. MyInfo is accessed by entering a VTAC ID and PIN, and allows students to apply for courses, scholarships, the Special Entry Access Scheme (SEAS) and the Special Tertiary Admissions Test (STAT), change preferences and, ultimately, view their ENTER and course offers.

  • VTAC Phone Information
VTAC can be contacted by phone on 1300 364 133.

  • VTAC Application
A VTAC application is a list of up to 12 VTAC courses that a student has selected and placed in order of study preference. Applicants must apply online.

Prerequisites and Extra Requirements

  • Prerequisites
Subjects that an applicant must successfully complete in order to apply for a course.

  • Extra Requirements
Applicable to some courses in addition to submitting a standard VTAC application. An extra requirement may be an interview, presentation of a folio or provision of additional information such as letters of recommendation.
