What to Do After an Offer

Accept? Defer? Reject?

Once your child has been offered a place, there are a number of different options available:

Accept an offer

If your child receives a place in the first round of offers, we advise that they accept this in the first instance.

If they receive a more desirable offer in a later round, they can accept this and cancel the original offer.

Defer an offer

In some cases, students have the option of delaying their course start date for up to one year.

Not all courses allow deferment, so it is very important to check individual course details.

Reject an offer

If your child does not wish to enrol in a course in which they have been offered a place, they can reject the offer.

The course place will then go to another applicant.

Leave of absence

Leave of absence is similar to deferment, but students can take it during the course rather than before commencement.
