Where do I start?

TAFE or university? Undergraduate or postgraduate? What’s a major and what’s a minor? Can I start an apprenticeship as a mature age student?

When considering returning to study, you need to make a decision about what type and level of study may be suitable for you.

What are my study options?

At Swinburne we offer the following study options:

• TAFE - Swinburne TAFE is one of Victoria's largest providers of vocational education and training. TAFE courses are offered at all of Swinburne’s five Melbourne campuses.
• University - Swinburne offers university courses, also known as degrees or undergraduate programs, at its Hawthorn, Lilydale and Prahran campuses.
• Postgrad - Postgraduate studies may be undertaken after completion of a bachelor degree or extensive work experience in a relevant field, usually in a specialised area.

Throughout the year, Swinburne staff attend a large number of expos and events and private one-on-one counselling sessions are available at various times throughout the year.
