To celebrate Engineering Week, Swinburne is inviting secondary school students from Years 10, 11 and 12 to get a taste of Engineering by attending the following hands-on workshops:

  • Build an electric die - Electrical/Electronics Engineering Workshop
  • Build your own smart car - Robotics & Mechatronics Workshop
  • Design your own product - Product Design Engineering Workshop
  • How to mend a broken heart - Biomedical Engineering Workshop

Swinburne Open Day

Sunday 16 August

Get on board our aviation flight simulator at the Hawthorn campus, take a behind-the-scenes tour of the film and television facilities at Prahran, get involved in cookery tastings and demonstrations at Lilydale and much more!

Swinburne’s Open Day website is now live and contains details of all our interactive information sessions available on the day.


Parent Information Evenings

The transition from secondary to tertiary education is a big step – not just for students, but parents as well.

Parents and VCE students will be able to quell those fears at one of our information evenings. These will include:

  • A parent's perspective on the transition from secondary school to tertiary study
  • A student's perspective on going on to further study
  • General information about entry, fees, scholarships, pathways and why Swinburne should be the institute of choice for your students.

There will be an opportunity for questions as well as light refreshments after the presentation.

The Siemens Science Experience

The Siemens Science Experience is a fun three days of science activities for Year 9 students.

Each program is designed to provide participants with an opportunity to engage in all sorts of fascinating science activities, all under the guidance of scientists who love their work.
