How to apply for Vocational Education (TAFE)

Applications should be made through the Victorian Tertiary Admissions Centre (VTAC) or direct to Swinburne, depending on your course and when you want to commence.

Applications for Semester 1

Year 12 students

If you are currently studying Year 12 in Australia, you should apply through VTAC.

If you are applying for a course that is not listed in the VTAC Guide or on the VTAC website, you will need to apply directly to Swinburne.

Non-Year 12 students

If you are not currently studying Year 12 in Australia and you intend to apply to multiple institutions, you should apply through VTAC.

If you are not currently studying Year 12 in Australia and if you intend to apply only to Swinburne, you can apply directly to Swinburne for all courses.

If you are applying for a course that is not listed on the VTAC website, you will need to apply directly to Swinburne.

Applications for other intakes

If you intend to apply for an intake other than Semester 1, you will need to apply directly to Swinburne.

VTAC applications should be submitted electronically via the VTAC website.

Apply directly to Swinburne

You can submit a direct application to Swinburne by applying online or downloading an application form.

All supporting documentation will also need to be submitted with your application.

You can complete your entire application online. Be sure to make a note of your unique application key and password so you can save and return to your application if you need to.
